September 10 2011 Defensive Handgun Level 1 Class 004 150x150 Defensive Handgun Level 1 & 2 Put Through their Paces at MOFTA The participants of the Defensive Handgun Level 1 & 2 were put through their paces at MOFTA on Sept 10 & 11, 2011.  These students had a great attitude and shot well during the two intense days at the range.  This class was put to the test with several stressful and challenging dynamic exercises that placed them in situations in which they had to apply the skills that they had learned to fluent and rapidly changing scenarios.  They did will and learned a whole lot!  Congratulations to the participants in Defensive Handgun Level 1 & 2.  You earned your stripes!

MOFTA at City of Columbus National Night Out Kick Off for Block Watch Groups

MOFTA participated in the City of Columbus National Night Out Kick Off Event for city wide Block Watch organizations. The event was held at the Far East Recreation Center in Columbus. MOFTA’s booth is pictured here.  There was a good turn out for a hot, humid summer day and many people stopped by the MOFTA booth for materials on MOFTA’s Civilian Personal Defense program and NRA Eddie Eagle Gun Safe Program for kids.

BSA Powder Horn Event May 21, 2011 Camp Lazarus 066

Mid-Ohio Firearms Training Academy (MOFTA) was honored to serve as firearms trainers for the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) at Camp Lazarus on May 21, 2011.

MOFTA assisted the Simon Kenton Council, BSA with their adult leadership training event on Saturday, May 21, 2011.

The Powder Horn Event, as it is called, provides adult Scouting leaders the opportunity to experience and learn about a variety of activities that are a part of the Scouting program.

MOFTA VP AND SENIOR INSTRUCTOR INVITED TO SPEAK AT INTERNATIONAL FIREARMS INSTRUCTOR CONFERENCE

Dick Caster, Senior Instructor and MOFTA partner has been invited to speak at the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors annual conference to be held in May 2011 in West Palm Beach, Florida.  Law enforcement firearms instructors from all over the world will convene for five days to participate in both classroom and live fire exercises to help them become better instructors.
