I appreciate the training, knowledge, skills, and friends I gained with MOFTA and Rogue. Look forward to future classes. And my advice is this, “no such thing as too much pressure, when sh*t hits the fan we never know how we will respond!” Josh B. November 19, 2011 Assault Rifle Clinic and Training Exercise 1-Alpha

I just want to send you a big THANK YOU to all the MOFTA staff. The class was very informative. Everyone was very knowledgeable and friendly. I was a little nervous at first at the shooting range, but everyone was helpful and kind.It was a honor to be there with all of you.You teach a very good, informative class.Everyone should take the class.People say they are afraid of guns,it’s the people that are careless and have not been taught the proper rules of guns.A special thank you to Gary Allen for his kind words and help at the range. He made me comfortable while shooting and was encouraging me along. Again thanks for everything and I highly recommend your class. Brenda G. August 13-14, 2011 Weekend CHL Class

I just wanted to drop a few thoughts about my experience with MOFTA, in my opinion MOFTA, by far, go’s above and beyond all of my expectations. The professionalism, zeal and kindness shown by all of your staff was amazing and it will never be forgotten by my family. I have taken my private security firearms training with Mr. Dick Caster and brought almost my entire family to the CHL class held on August 13th and 14th, where we experienced the rest of your crew. We were totally satisfied.
Although all of the staff was great and the training was second to none, I must point out a couple of instructors that really stood out to me at the range. My wife has server fibromyalgia a muscle disease that can be very debilitating. I was so impressed with Mr. Gary Allen. He was so good with my wife that I was blown away. He really made a difference in here experience and encouraged her in a way, which I believe, only he could. I believe he was Gods blessing to her on that day; thank you Gary. My daughter was shooting her 380 bodyguard which is probably the hardest gun to shoot at the range that day. I could have given her an easier weapon but that’s what she wants to carry so she wanted to do the class with that weapon. Mr. Dick Wheeler, thank you for spending the time with Brandie that you did. Being as helpful as you and your staff were allowed me to somewhat clear my mind concerning my loved ones and enjoy my experience.
Thank you all for everything, and Dick what you did for Brenda at the end of the range session we will never forget. You made her day. If you need firearms training of any type, MOFTA is the place to go. Once again thanks for everything and may God bless all of you. Jr. G. August 13-14, 2011 Weekend CHL Class

I can’t tell you how impressed I was with Defensive Handgun Level 1 and Level 2 this weekend. All of the instructors were extremely helpful and very concerned that they were not offending us which is very unusual in any instruction. It was the first time I ever did any shooting like that and the first time I used a semi-automatic gun except a few times at an indoor range. I already feel so comfortable with it. You are a great group of guys and I will highly recommend you. Thanks so much. Dan C. April 30 – May 1, 2011

I’d like to take a minute to thank all of the MOFTA instructors that taught the NRA Instructor Pistol course on February 11 and 12, 2011. I know I learned a great deal from you all! See you in the near future, when I take another one of your awesome classes! Jeremy C.

Dear Mr. Wheeler,I would like to thank you and all your staff for the professional and thorough instruction provided in your CHL class. I appreciate that you go above and beyond to educate your students about the practical aspects of concealed carry, including what to do in the event that the use of lethal force is required. I am also grateful for your patience and encouragement on the range, and that you take the time to make certain that students get it right. It had been many years since I regularly target practiced and I was quite nervous, but you soon put me at ease. You really treat students like family, treating them with respect and imparting the knowledge you would want them to have to protect themselves and their loved ones. I shall highly recommend your classes to others and look forward to perhaps taking another class myself in the future.
Sincerely,
Dr. Angela M.

Dear MOFTA Team,Just dropping you guys a quick message to express my thanks and appreciation for an amazing and informative class in October. All of you were very important in conducting a conceal-carry course that, in my opinion, was top notch and professional. Not only did you make me comfortable with the handling of my firearm but you expressed thoughts and addressed issues with what it means to be a responsible, safe, and professional firearm handler.
Your instruction and class opened my eyes in new ways. I am proud to say that because of your instruction and thought provoking conversation, I have started work in my Masters Degree in Criminal Justice with the goal of a career in the Federal Branch.
Please feel free to refer any potential student to me if they would like a reference from a past student.
Keep up the good work and thank you again.
Sincerely, John L. —————————————————————————————
Wow! Where can I begin? Few words cannot begin to describe the level of training I received at MOFTA? Their CCW course greatly exceeds and goes far beyond the NRA basic firearms safety course which is the minimum training required by the state of Ohio.
As a CCW license holder I understand and now know that the lack of information and training previously received never gave me the skills and knowledge needed to protect myself both legally and tactically when carrying on the street.
At MOFTA instructors personally make sure you are taught and not just shown. They have a mission and that mission is to make sure that you are able to safely deploy your handgun from concealment and understand the implications involved before, during and after deciding to use deadly force.
Classroom drills reinforce your knowledge of how to perform the proper draw stroke from concealment. What a thought, a CCW class and they actually teach you how to draw your weapon. They teach you how to properly engage the target, what to do to protect yourself after you shoot, the differences of combat and tactical reloads and how to perform each of these. And I do mean perform!
They even have drills in how to handle both minor and major gun malfunctions and don’t just show you how these are done but actually make each student do the task. These actions will help you to protect yourself and get your weapon back on target and come in handy during the qualification drills on the range.
Will a basic NRA safety course be able to help you get your CCW license? Yes it will, but will basic training prepare you for the real world out on the street? I don’t think so. The NRA basic safety class gives you two hours of range time and the coursework necessary to pass a test. During the range time you will have a single, bulls-eye paper target situated at 50 feet with pretty much an unlimited time frame in order to perform your marksmanship skills. Will you know the proper way to draw your weapon? No. Will you know how to properly hold your weapon? Maybe. Will you be given any functional real life drills that will translate into skills necessary to help you survive on the street? No and the list could go on.
I looked at the range qualifications necessary for a MOFTA certificate. WOW, fourteen exercises with different time and distance requirements that instruct and reinforce the training and skills taught in the classroom. No laying down on the job here. You get real life scenarios similar to what you may have to face in a deadly encounter. Single, double and multiple threats, close encounters at arm’s length where you are required to draw from concealment and shoot from your hip retention position and double tap scenarios. More meaningful than the realism is the willingness of the instructors to fully explain the reasoning for each exercise. No one is left behind on the range either; if additional personal attention is needed you will receive it promptly and with respect.
As a CCW license holder my desire was to build upon the previous training I received so I would be better enabled to withstand a violent confrontation. I thought I had training, but after my class at MOFTA I found that I came to class with not much more than a license to carry a concealed handgun.
In a few short words, what did I come away with? Safety, safety, safety and the intensity of training never expected in an entry level CCW class. I expected to get this kind of training only in an advanced class.
If you want or need additional CCW training, ask yourself this question. What is most important to the people that will train me? My money or my training? At MOFTA it is obvious, the training.
Thank you Dick, Barry and Gary for the personal attention I received and also given to each student. Your desire to instill safety, proper gun handing techniques and mindset is evident with every word spoken.

Dear Dick and Bob,
I felt it was important to drop you a note to say thank you again for the quality and professionalism of the MOFTA program. I have been a recreational shooter for many years, but I learned a great deal from your expert instruction. After completing your course, I feel extremely confident in my ability to defend myself under Ohio’s CHL law. Not only does your course teach the techniques and mechanics of weapons safety and tactics in a comprehensive and logical manner, but it also emphasizes this right. This to me is as important as any weapons training.
I plan to recommend your course to anyone I know who wishes to exercise their right under this law. I hope you will be offering further training in the future for license holders, as I will gladly take advantage. Please accept my humble approval to post this letter, or to use as you see fit.
I wish you both the best and continued success with the program, as I look forward to seeing you both again very soon.
Very Sincerely,
Dave J.——————————————————————————————————
Dear MOFTA,
What a terrific day! My wife and I just returned home from graduating your concealed carry class, and after allowing my pulse to slow a bit, I felt I would be remiss if I did not pass along my sincere thoughts on a job well done. The entire MOFTA team was simply “spot-on” throughout the entire class.
As you know from our time together, I work as Director of Engineering for a Columbus based manufacturing company. My position requires travel that necessitates leaving my wife home to more or less “fend for herself”. To say that this situation concerns the both of us would be an understatement.
I recognize completely that we have a great police department, but the reality is that they cannot be everywhere all of the time. Additionally, simply buying a weapon for my wife and expecting her to know how to use it safely would have been completely irresponsible. In short, your class presented the solution.Throughout the entire week, I watched as the both of us gained the didactic knowledge and practical experience necessary to pass your class. I cannot help but think that with practice (and the advanced course that you will hopefully someday offer) my wife and I will feel a much deeper sense of security during those difficult times apart.
In closing, to any husband who has to travel and leave love ones home alone, please consider taking this class with your wife. Make the realization that your family’s safety is your duty and take the necessary steps to ensure it.
Please feel free to post this letter as you see fit.Warmest regards,
Mark and Melonie————————————————————————————————————-
Bob,
Use this testimony for your MOFTA website.
I had already taken a concealed carry class with another group and other instructors, and have my concealed handgun license. I also had the unique opportunity to attend the class presented by MOFTA. My reason for writing this is there was no comparison. MOFTA had much better instructors, were very thorough and really went into the hands on training and teaching of self defense. I highly recommend this class above any I know of.

Thank you all for being so nice and friendly. If felt like we’d known each other for years. Meanwhile, I was getting extremely valuable information.
The course was great. I think it would be nice to be able to come back to the range in a couple of weeks for some follow-up training to reinforce skills. (for a fee of course).
Everything was great. I was scared to keep a loaded gun around me. I feel confident enough to carry it with me.
Great time. More fun than college. Well set up and very well done.
Because of my ‘lack of skills’ with handguns, I was kind of nervous about attending this class. However, the trainers / instructors were so down to earth, I felt very comfortable, and enjoyed the class. Thanks guys!
I would recommend this course to anyone.

I have already, and will continue to highly recommend your course to several people. You guys are the Best!
