Defensive Handgun Level 2

Prerequisite – Defensive Handgun Level – 1
Defensive Handgun Level 2 (DH-2) is the second level class in our 6-tier progression towards a professional gunfighter skills set. Additional training perfecting and building on what you have already learned and developed our DH-1 class.
You will shoot a minimum of 600 rounds through the 10-hour shooting day (Sunday). 600 rounds will get you through the course; however you will have plenty of opportunity to shoot more, up to 700 or 800 rounds. So, bring what you want.
All techniques and drills in this level will begin from the holster. You will be improving your drawing technique through simplifying the mechanics of the draw, eliminating unnecessary movement and getting your sights on the target in minimal time.
We will continue to build on the shooting while moving skills introduced in DH-1, introducing more movements, and different shooting on the move techniques. You will run these drills individually and with partners. We will introduce firing from other than normal shooting positions, sitting at tables, sitting at tables with your significant other. How to clear and move away from tables, etc….
You will have opportunity to exercise your shooting skills while multi-tasking (making 911 calls, securing and/or rescuing person(s), dealing with innocent non-combatants, etc…). And, there may be additional ambient distractions that may stress your skill sets. You will experience the proper methods to clear rooms and buildings. You will learn right and left hand techniques to shoot from cover and/or concealment. And, you will actually have the opportunity to practice your verbalization skills.
As in DH-1 a good holster, belt, spare ammo device carrier (mag pouch), at least two spare ammo devices (magazine or speed loader, two or more is recommended) eye and ear protection is mandatory. Unless prior arrangements are made with MOFTA, you will need to provide your own hearing and eye protection.
To ensure a good instructor to student ratio this class is limited to 15-students.
Additional classes may be added if interest merits.
Class fee is $150.00 ($140.00 if paid in full online) per student, with a $75.00 non-refundable deposit required to hold your slot in the class. Balance due at the beginning of class on Sunday. You must supply your own ammunition (minimum of 600 rounds, you will have ample opportunity to shoot up to seven or eight hundred rounds) any hard ball full metal jacket, such as Winchester’s: White Box” ammunition is acceptable. No ammunition will be provided by MOFTA.
Class will be held from 08:30 to 19:30 (7:30 PM) with a 1-hour break for lunch. Arrival time is 08:00. Class will be held on Sunday, TBD at a private outdoor range in southern Delaware County, about 10-minutes north of I-270.
