Defensive Handgun Level 2

CHL CPD Logo jpeg2 150x150 Defensive Handgun Level 2Additional training perfecting and building what you have already learned and developed
in our Defensive Handgun Level – 1 class.

You will shoot a minimum of 500 rounds through the 8-hour day (Sunday). 500 rounds
will get you through the course; however you will have plenty of opportunity to shoot
more, up to 600 or 700 rounds. So, bring what you want. You will practice techniques
and tactics shooting at metal plate targets. You will experience Man-On-Man “Furtive
Movement” drills learning to react to threatening movement instead of the normal range
commands or whistle.

You will work on improving your drawing technique through simplifying the mechanics
of the draw, eliminating unnecessary movement and getting your sights on the target
in minimal time. With our timing and scoring system, you will be able to monitor your
progress through the 8-hour day of shooting.

You will run many shooting drills, firing multiple shots on multiple targets while moving
forward and backwards, side-to-side and laterally. You will run these drills individually
and with partners. You will practice firing from other than normal shooting positions,
sitting at tables, sitting at tables with your significant other. How to clear and move away
from tables, etc….

You will experience the proper methods to clear rooms and buildings. You will run
through drills to help strengthen your use of cover techniques and verbalization skills.
You will learn right and left hand techniques to shoot from cover and/or concealment.
You will actually have the opportunity to practice your verbalization skills.

As in all MOFTA advance classes, we will continue to refine reloading and malfunction
techniques. We will refine your grip and stance enabling you to put rapid-fire repeat
shots on target.

With the use of our metal plate targets (reduced silhouette targets) you will have little
wait time, and you will spend most of your time on the firing line, shooting (and/or
reloading your magazines or speed loaders).

You will learn close quarters shooting with other shooters. Rescue/recovery of innocents
while returning fire. Shooting from chairs and tables with no-shoot innocents around,
etc…

A good holster, belt, spare ammo device carrier (mag pouch), at least two spare ammo
devices (magazine or speed loader, two or more is recommended) eye and ear protection
is mandatory. Unless prior arrangements are made with MOFTA, you will need to
provide your own hearing and eye protection.

To ensure a good instructor to student ratio this class is limited to 15-students.
Additional classes may be added if interest merits.

Class fee is $150.00 ($140.00 if paid in full online) per student, with a $75.00 non-refundable deposit required to hold
your slot in the class. Balance due at the beginning of class on Saturday. You must
supply your own ammunition (minimum of 500 rounds, you will have ample opportunity
to shoot up to six hundred rounds, or more) any hard ball full metal jacket, such as
Winchester’s: White Box” ammunition is acceptable. No ammunition will be provided
by MOFTA.

Class will be held from 08:00 to 17:00 (5:00 PM) with a 1-hour break for lunch. Class
will be held on Sunday, TBD ata private outdoor range in southern Delaware County,
about 10-minutes north of I-270. We will shoot rain or shine, so come with proper
clothing for any possible weather. You will get detailed directions with your enrollment
confirmation.
