Tactical Rifle for Personal Defense

Get to know your tactical rifle/carbine and gear. Bring your tac-rifle (and bullets) (and handgun) and join us for an enjoyable day of shooting and getting very familiar with yourrifle (and handgun) under conditions not usually encountered or allowed on ranges, but possibly encountered in real life situations. This day is an introduction to your tac-rifle
and how to apply the rifle with proper techniques to provide the defense of yourself, your loved ones and your domain. This is an excellent pre-cursor to Tactical Rifle-1 presented by the Tactical Defense Institute (TDI) in West Union, Ohio.

Gear Review; Included with your class – Friday evening, two weeks prior to the Saturday
shoot. 18:00 – 21:00 bring your rifle and gear, or come without if you haven’t purchased
any yet. We’ll review your rifle set-up (controls, slings, optics, lasers, stocks, flashlights,
etc…) We’ll review your gear (mag carriers, vest, chest rigs, dump pouches, handheld
lights, pistol holsters, etc…) We’ll discuss pros & cons of all, make suggestions and
answer questions and concerns. You will leave with a good idea of what will work for
you in the field and on the range, and come to the range day much better prepared.

Day Shoot; Saturday, 09:00 – 17:30 with ½ hour break for lunch. 800 rifle rounds and
approximately 100 pistol rounds will get you through the scheduled drills, but you will
have opportunity to shoot more if you desire to do so. You can also shoot less if desired.

Night Shoot; Saturday, 20:00 – 23:00 Day Shoot attendance required. 200 rifle rounds
and approximately 50 pistol rounds will get you through the scheduled drills, but you will
have opportunity to shoot more if you desire to do so. You can also shoot less if desired.

You will experience multiple targets shooting, moving and shooting, shooting in close
quarters, use of cover/barricade shooting and other useful drills. You will experience
reloading techniques & drills and malfunction clearing techniques. You will experience
transitions from rifle to handgun, and back while engaging targets, and possibly moving.
You will have fun, and hopefully learn some new stuff.

There will be an optional “Night Shoot” where you will get to put some of the skills
experienced during the Day Shoot to use, utilizing your weapon mounted light, and/or
hand held light. We’ll close the night out with a “Rolling Thunder” drill that will light up
the night and get your juices flowing for the drive home.
